Jose Luis Garrido, aged 30, fell in 2005 into a ravine in the mountains of Bierzo in Leon, Spain. He was alone and rescue teams found him three days later. Jose Luis was on the verge of exhaustion and lost his voice so much shouting. He broke both legs and suffered numerous injuries all over the body. His survival instinct saved him. You can build a shelter using branches, vegetation or rocks, that are in your environment, and start a fire using your glasses, a magnifying glass or two branches. 3 Collect water is simple knowing how to preserve water of rain or dew, or recognize contaminated water and learn how to purify it. 4 You can find plant foods or animals. To do this, you need to know which plants can be eaten, and what not, and also for hunting secrets. 5 And you can find company by a spiritual approach to God, or invent your own teammate, in the style of the film El Castaway Wilson. These are the 5 basic skills anyone needs to survive. Jose Luis used them instinctively. The same States have seen repeatedly hallucinations. If it managed to survive, says, it was behaving like an animal that feels a threat against his life. Even if you’ve not fallen into a ravine, you will use these skills in any emergency situation. You can change the materials to build a shelter, or the way to make sure you water, but these basic skills will ensure you that you’re hot, with water, food and company.
